Pfeiffer Farms Summer Horseback Riding and  Educational Horse Care Camp

Make a difference in your childs life this summer!


Send them to Horseback Riding Camp. Children of all ages learn Basic to Advanced horse care.  Lots of Hands-On experience will give your child the confidence to groom, saddle and ride horses. Please see our calandar for days and times.

 Pfeiffer Farms, where horseback riding is Fun!  

Children of all ages and levels will learn the following:

  1. Daily Riding Lesson and Horseback Games
  2. Proper Grooming Techniques & Bathing
  3. Clipping, Mane pulling and braiding
  4. Complete show prep
  5. Ground handling, lunging, fitting & showing
  6. Saddle and Bridle a horse
  7. Hoof Care
  8. Wrapping legs
  9. Loading and shipping
  10. Health Care (vaccines, colic, lameness)
  11. Stable management (cleaning and feeding)

Each camp will be tailored to meet the needs of the Campers. The following is an example of the different levels of riders.

Beginner: The beginner horse-person may or may not have ridden. This program focuses on the novice rider. Campers will ride indoors or in an enclosed area, learning as much of the care as possible and riding at the walk and trot. This is usually 1st year and 2nd year Campers that do not ride over the winter months.

Intermediate: This rider can walk, trot, and canter. They may Also ride over small cross-pole jumps. Riders Are comfortable around horses and have been Active with horses for more than 1 week of camp. This is usually 2nd and 3rd year campers.

Advanced: These campers generally have thier own horse or have leased a horse. Riders can already perform the general horse care tasks above and are looking to ride off the farm, jump cross country, & foxhunt. Advanced camp includes clinics or seminars with vets, farriers, or riders of National caliber. Camps may Include overnight stays at different locations, and a horse trial at the end of the week. Riders must be able to jump 3', have knowledge of lead changes, and have experience in the Show arena. You must bring your own horse.

 Camps groups may be combined if less than 5 entries.
All Beginner and Intermediate camps cost $199.00


Please bring or wear the following:

  1. Stretch riding pants (no jeans please)
  2. Boot that is over the ankle, no higher than 1" heel
  3. Sack Lunch, bottled water or drink, sunscreen
  4. Painting Shirt & shorts to change into.
  5. Safety Helmet for riding.

Advanced Camp costs varies according to the clinician & program

To attend Advanced Camp you need the following:

  1. Your own horse or a borrowed horse that jumps 3'
  2. Ability to ride 3' stadium jumps and Cross Country jumps
  3. A Jumping Saddle (A dressage saddle if possible)
  4. Clothing and equipment necessary for eventing.

Advanced campers may attend a horse trial at the end of camp. The charge for this is separate. Please call to check availability.
